Frequently Asked Questions

Commercial snow & ice — your questions, answered.

Everything you need to know about how Pro Sno keeps mission-critical properties safe, open, and operational all winter.

What we mean by

“Mission-Critical Facility”

Any facility that must stay open, safe, and accessible during its hours of operation — where closing for snow isn't an option.

Data centers, hospitals, warehouses, retail centers, and corporate campuses all qualify.

General service information

The basics

What commercial snow removal services do you offer?

Complete snow & ice management for commercial properties:

  • Snow plowing — parking lots, roads, and driveways
  • Sidewalk and pathway clearing
  • De-icing and anti-icing applications
  • Snow stacking, relocation, and hauling
  • Ongoing monitoring and 24/7 storm response

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes — we're fully licensed and insured, for the peace of mind of your team, your visitors, and our crews.

When do snow removal operations begin after a snowfall?

Our team is on call 24/7 all winter. Operations typically begin:

  • With pre-treatment before the snow starts, for properties that need it
  • Immediately once accumulation hits your preset threshold
  • According to the service plan we build with you

What types of properties do you service?

We specialize in mission-critical commercial sites (see the definition above), including:

  • Corporate campuses and office parks
  • Data centers and other mission-critical sites
  • Medical campuses and hospitals
  • Retail and shopping centers
  • Schools and government buildings

What types of contracts do you offer?

Flexible options to fit your site: seasonal (flat-rate) contracts, per-push (pay-per-event) plans, and tiered seasonal programs.

Pricing & customization

What it costs

How is snow removal pricing determined?

Pricing reflects your site, not a generic rate card — factors include site size and layout complexity, the type and frequency of services, your snow-depth thresholds, and contract length. Every client gets a customized proposal.

Is there a minimum snow accumulation before service begins?

Yes, and it's customizable. You can set a trigger such as 0″, ½″, or 1″ of accumulation before service starts.

Do you offer discounts or bundled packages?

Pricing is tailored to each property. We don't run generic discounts, but bundling multiple services or committing to a longer-term contract can create real cost efficiencies.

Eco-friendly practices & safety

Safe for your site and the environment

Do you use environmentally friendly de-icing products?

Yes. We use eco-friendly, chloride-reducing de-icers that are safer for vegetation, hardscapes, pets, and people.

How do you ensure safety during operations?

We follow strict snow-industry safety standards, including:

  • Ongoing employee training
  • Scheduled maintenance for all equipment
  • Safety-first planning — signage, pre-treatment, and lighting considerations

Snow stacking, relocation & hauling

When the snow has nowhere to go

Do you offer snow stacking on-site?

Yes. We stack snow in designated, low-traffic zones to preserve your operational space and reduce risk during storms.

What is snow relocation, and do I need it?

Relocation means moving accumulated snow from key areas (entries, lots, docks) to on-site storage zones. It's ideal when buildup starts to affect visibility, access, or safety.

Can you haul snow off-site?

Yes. When on-site stacking isn't feasible, we provide full-service hauling to permitted off-site disposal locations — helping you comply with local ordinances and keep your site accessible.

When is snow hauling or relocation necessary?

We recommend it when:

  • On-site piles block visibility or access
  • Local codes restrict snow accumulation
  • Emergency access routes are compromised
  • You operate a high-traffic or zero-tolerance site

Is snow hauling included in the contract?

It can be. Stacking, relocation, and hauling can be built into your seasonal contract, or scheduled and billed as needed based on conditions and space.

Scheduling & availability

When we're available

Can I pre-schedule services, even without a snow event forecast?

Yes — we offer pre-treatment scheduling and site monitoring so your property is ready even before the flakes fall.

Do you offer 24/7 service, including holidays?

Absolutely. We provide around-the-clock service, including weekends and holidays, throughout the snow season.

When does your snow season typically run?

Our standard agreements cover November 15 through March 31. We're also available for out-of-season or extended winter events.

Serving: Carol Stream, Wheaton, West Chicago, Glendale Heights, Bloomingdale, Naperville, Schaumburg, Oak Brook, and surrounding suburbs.
